Merchants Barbarians contains 4 variants on Catan and 5 new challenging scenarios, which can be combined to a greater or lesser extent with each other and with The Seafarers and City Knights. For example, we find a harbor master, who rewards players with settlements at harbor locations with points. Or a friendly highwayman who, à la Robin Hood, only robs the rich. For those who are a little less lucky, there is the variant Events on Catan, in which the dice are replaced by a balanced pack of cards. At the request of players all over the world, there is also a variant in which you can play the base game with two players. The largest part of the manual, however, consists of the description of five completely new scenarios, which are sorted by difficulty.
